Background
Deborah Feinsilver is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a lifelong appreciation for the power of stories. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin, she later pursued a Master’s degree in Psychology at Our Lady of the Lake University, specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Her work is grounded in the belief that while each person’s story is unique, many of us share common themes — some that support growth and others that no longer serve us. Deborah is passionate about helping clients identify unhelpful patterns and create new narratives rooted in strength, resilience, and possibility.
She trained at the Houston Galveston Institute, known for its pioneering work in Collaborative Therapy, and has contributed to research in the field.
Training & Approach
Deborah integrates evidence-based and relational approaches tailored to each client’s needs. She is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a highly effective trauma treatment, and also draws from CBT, Family Systems, Imago Relationship Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
She works with individuals, couples, and families navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, codependency, and women’s issues. Her approach is collaborative, compassionate, and focused on meaningful change.
