Background
Christine is a licensed clinical social worker and board approved supervisor. She also has a PhD in social work. Christine works full time as a researcher at a state university, researching opioid addiction. She works part time as a therapist and is co-owner of Tanglewood Behavioral Health Group.
Christine was first drawn to the mental health field when she was working for a non profit organization that assisted and advocated for people affected by OCD. Shortly after, her son was diagnosed with Tourette’s and OCD. Her experiences with him and the struggle to find affordable and evidence-based therapy for OCD influenced her decision to enter the field and help others.
Training & Approach
Christine is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Inference-based CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy and Mindfulness-Based CBT. She is also trained in Comprehensive Behavior Therapy and Habit Reversal Therapy, both evidence-based approach for treating body focused repetitive behaviors such as trichotillomania and skin picking. Christine is also certified in Imago relationship counseling, and Level 2 trained in the Gottman Method for relationship counseling.
Christine is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy and Accelerated Resolution Therapy, which are both evidence-based treatments for trauma, childhood trauma and PTSD. Christine is also in the process of becoming certified in Imago Relationship Therapy.
